Badhardt is a Midwest indie rock trio based between Minnesota and Wisconsin. Guitarist Peter Burghardt recently moved from Sioux Falls to Rochester, drummer and lead vocalist Erik Baden is in Milwaukee, and bassist Justin Reineking is in La Crosse. The two founding members — whose last names contribute to the portmanteau of Bad-Hardt — began collaborating long-distance in 2020, and the band now plays regularly across the Upper Midwest.
Their music ranges in influence from classic rock to soul, new wave, punk, and shoegaze. With dry wit and lyrical sophistication, their songs balance earnestness and irreverence in equal measure.
